In the study of vision of the vanquished proposed by Miguel Leon-Portilla in 1959, Historia de los yngas by Titu Cusi Yupanqui is a very important text because it is the only one of some vanquished king of Latin America and the first one by native Andean text. Especially the importance of this text is the features that will be reiterated later in the seventeenth century texts as Comentarios reales de los Incas (1609) by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, Relación de antigüedades deste reyno del Piru (1613)by Juan de Santa Cruz Pachacuti Yamqui Salcamayhua and Nueva corónica y buen gobierno (1615) by Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala. It is the insistence on the legitimacy of government in the Andes with the argument that he is already a convert. This does not mean that Titu Cusi Yupanqui is a colonial subject. What Titu Cusi Yupanqui and the later authors try is opening the way for participation in the colonial order in formation under the view that the order before the conquest is not recoverable.
